1-) Can foreign nationals purchase property in Turkey?
Yes.
2-) Does one have to be a Turkish resident?
No.
3-) Can I get a morgage in Turkey?

4-) Can I open a bank account as a non-resident?
Yes.
5-) Do I need to pay a deposit?
Can I pay it by my foreign credit card?
Yes.
However, prior to coming to Turkey, make an arrangement
with your bank at home to be able to phone up and have
the deposit transferred
Or bring cash (not really advisable).
Banks in UK have a limit for foreign transfers using a card
here & it's less than your normal card limit.
6-) Must I employ a lawyer when buying land or property?
Not necessarily.
7) Will I need a lawyer when buying off-plan?
No. We will draw up a contract for you to sign. You can, of course, hire a lawyer.
8-) What taxes will I need to pay?
a) Property Tax - 0.4 % of declared value of property.
b) Tapu Fee - 3 % of declared value.
c) Earthquake Tax - about GBP 30 + minimal documentation expenses
9-) What other expenses will there be?
